AI Assistant Overview

The AI Assistant is a built-in intelligent chat feature in VertiTab that helps you manage browser tabs and interact with web content using natural language.

Key Features

🤖 Two Work Modes

• Ask Mode: Chat with AI about your current tab content. Get explanations, summaries, translations, or answers based on the page you're viewing.
• Agent Mode: Control your browser with natural language commands. Manage tabs, bookmarks, history, windows, and more through conversational AI.

🔧 Browser Operation Tools

In Agent mode, AI can perform various browser operations:

• Tab Operations: Create, close, move, group, discard, reload tabs
• Tab Groups: Create, update, move, close tab groups
• Window Operations: Create, update, close windows
• Bookmarks: Search, create, update, delete, move bookmarks
• History: Search, delete browsing history
• Sessions: Restore recently closed tabs/windows

💬 Session Management

• Create multiple chat sessions for different topics
• Session history is automatically saved
• Continue conversations across browser restarts

⚡ Quick Prompts

• Pre-configured prompts for common tasks
• Create your own custom prompts
• Organize prompts into groups

How to Access

From Bottom Navigation Bar

1. Click the AI Assistant icon in the bottom navigation bar
2. Or enable it in: Options > Appearance > Bottom Navigation > Enable "AI Assistant"

From Tab Navigation

1. Enable in: Options > Appearance > Tab Navigation > Enable "AI Assistant"
2. Click the AI Assistant tab at the top

Key-Free Experience

Some models support a key-free trial experience. For the best results, we recommend configuring your own API key.

• Local Storage: All conversation data is stored locally on your device
• API Keys: Your API keys are encrypted and never sent to our servers
• BYOK Mode: Bring Your Own Key - use your own API keys for full control

Getting Started

1. Open the AI Assistant panel
2. Accept the privacy notice on first use
3. Select an AI model (some support key-free experience)
4. Start chatting!
