View and Restore Snapshots in Side Panel

The side panel provides quick access to view, manage, and restore your tab snapshots without leaving your current browsing session.

Accessing the Snapshot Panel

  1. Click the RabbitPair extension icon in your browser toolbar to open the side panel

  2. Locate the camera icon in the bottom navigation bar

  3. Click the camera icon to open the snapshot panel

Panel Interface

Snapshot Sections

The panel displays snapshots in two categories:

Pinned Snapshots

  • Shows your most important snapshots that you've pinned for quick access
  • Indicated by a pin icon with the count of pinned snapshots
  • Premium feature: Requires membership to switch between sections

All Snapshots

  • Shows all your recent snapshots
  • Indicated by a camera icon with the total count of unpinned snapshots
  • Contains your most recently created snapshots

Toolbar Actions

At the top of the panel, you'll find quick action buttons:

  • Create All Windows Snapshot: Saves all open browser windows to a new snapshot
  • Create Current Window Snapshot: Saves only the current active window
  • Open Full Manager: Opens the complete snapshot management page in a new tab (requires login)

Viewing Snapshot Details

Snapshot List Items

Each snapshot displays:

  • Icon: Shows if the snapshot is locked/unlocked or regular
  • Title: The snapshot name (auto-generated or custom)
  • Statistics: Number of windows, groups, and tabs
  • Restore Button: Quick restore action

Snapshot Preview

Click on any snapshot item to open a detailed preview popup that shows:

  • All windows contained in the snapshot
  • Tab groups with their colors and organization
  • Individual tabs with titles and URLs
  • Complete structure of your saved browsing session

Restoring Snapshots

Quick Restore

  1. Find the desired snapshot in the list

  2. Click the restore button (arrow icon) next to the snapshot

  3. Choose your restore option:

    • New Window: Opens the snapshot in a new browser window
    • Replace Current: Replaces tabs in the current window

From Preview

  1. Click on a snapshot to open the preview popup

  2. Review the snapshot content to ensure it's what you want

  3. Use the restore controls within the preview to restore the entire snapshot or specific parts

Managing Snapshots

Right-Click Context Menu

Right-click on any snapshot to access additional options:

Replace Content

  • Updates the snapshot with your current browsing session
  • Overwrites the existing snapshot data
  • Premium feature

Pin/Unpin

  • Pins important snapshots to the top section for quick access
  • Unpins snapshots to move them back to the general list

Delete

  • Permanently removes the snapshot
  • Shows confirmation dialog before deletion
  • Cannot be undone

Password-Protected Snapshots

For locked snapshots:

  1. Click on the snapshot to view it

  2. Enter the password when prompted

  3. Once unlocked, you can view and restore the snapshot normally

  4. The snapshot remains unlocked during your current session

Tips for Effective Use

Organization

  • Pin your most frequently used snapshots for quick access
  • Use descriptive names when creating snapshots for easy identification
  • Regularly clean up old or unnecessary snapshots

Workflow Integration

  • Create snapshots before major browsing changes
  • Use the side panel for quick restores during active work
  • Access the full manager for comprehensive snapshot organization

Performance

  • The side panel shows your most recent snapshots for faster loading
  • Large snapshots may take a moment to load in the preview
  • Use the quick restore for immediate access to saved sessions

Limitations

  • Login Required: Full manager access requires user authentication
  • Premium Features: Advanced management options need membership
  • Session Scope: Unlocked password-protected snapshots remain accessible only during current session
