What are Window Presets?

Window presets are predefined configurations that you can apply to browser windows to customize their appearance in VertiTab. Each preset can include:

  • Window Name: Custom identifier for the window
  • Window Icon: Visual icon to represent the window purpose
  • Icon Color: Color scheme for the window icon
  • Text Color: Color for window title and text elements
  • Background Color: Background color for the window display area

Creating Window Presets

Configuration Options

Window Name

  • Custom name to identify the window purpose
  • Examples: "Main Work", "Research", "Client Project A", "Personal"
  • Helps maintain context when switching between windows

Window Icon

  • Choose from available icon sets
  • Icons represent different purposes (work, research, entertainment, etc.)
  • Visual identification at a glance

Color Customization

  • Icon Color: Customize the icon appearance
  • Text Color: Set text readability and visual consistency
  • Background Color: Create visual distinction between windows

Preset Examples

Important Limitations

  • No Browser Sync: Window names don't synchronize with browser's native window naming
  • API Limitations: No browser API available to read or modify native window names
  • Local Display: Customizations are purely for VertiTab interface enhancement

Scope of Customization

  • Presets affect only the visual representation in VertiTab
  • Browser window titles remain unchanged
  • Other extensions won't see these customizations
  • Settings are local to your VertiTab installation
