Drag and Drop Hover Menu

The Drag and Drop Hover Menu provides context-sensitive actions when dragging tabs or groups over other elements in the sidebar, offering quick operations without precise dropping.

Setting Location

1. Open VertiTab settings
2. Go to Tab Settings > Tabs
3. Find "Drag Hover Menu Wait Time"
4. Set the wait time in seconds (0 to disable)

How It Works

When dragging a tab or group, hover over another tab or group for the configured time to display a context menu with available actions.

Menu Types

Tab to Tab Menu

When dragging tab(s) over another tab:

• Move Tabs: Move the dragged tab(s) to the target position
• Add to Group: Create a new group with both tabs
• Group as Tree: (Tree view only) Create a tree relationship

Tab to Group Menu

When dragging tab(s) over a group:

• Move Tabs: Move tabs to the group and change position
• Add Tab to Group: Add tabs to the group without changing position

Group to Group Menu

When dragging a group over another group:

• Move Group: Move the entire group to the target position
• Add to Group: Combine tabs from both groups into a new group

View Mode Differences

The menu options vary depending on your current view mode:

Standard View:

• Basic move and grouping operations

Tree View:

• Additional "Group as Tree" option for creating parent-child relationships
• Tree-specific drag behaviors

Configuration

Wait Time Settings:

• 0 seconds: Disables drag hover menu entirely
• 0.5-2 seconds: Typical range for responsive but intentional activation
• 3+ seconds: Requires deliberate hovering
