Scheduled Refresh/Suspend/Close Tabs

VertiTab provides scheduled task functionality to automatically refresh, suspend, or close tabs at specific times or intervals. This premium feature helps automate repetitive tab management tasks.

What are Scheduled Tasks?

Scheduled tasks allow you to automate actions on tabs without manual intervention. You can set up tasks to refresh tabs at regular intervals, suspend tabs after a certain period, or close tabs at a specific time.

Basic Task Setup

Create a Scheduled Task

To create a scheduled task for a tab:

  1. Right-click on the tab in the VertiTab sidebar
  2. Select "Scheduled Task" from the context menu
  3. Configure your task settings in the dialog
  4. Click "Start" to begin the task

Note: This is a premium feature. Free users will see an upgrade prompt.

  • Memory Management: Suspend unused tabs after specific periods
  • Session Cleanup: Close temporary tabs at end of workday
  • Data Updates: Keep real-time applications current with scheduled refreshes
  • Automated Workflows: Combine with other tools for productivity automation

Limitations

  • Premium Feature: Requires VertiTab premium subscription
  • Single Task per Tab: Each tab can only have one active scheduled task
  • Browser Dependent: Tasks may be affected by browser sleep or system hibernation
  • Accuracy: Timing may vary slightly due to browser performance optimization

Troubleshooting

Task not starting or not working?

  • Ensure you have a premium subscription
  • Check that the browser isn't preventing background execution
  • Verify the tab hasn't been closed or moved to another window

Task stopped unexpectedly?

  • Browser or system sleep can interrupt tasks
  • Tab closure or navigation will stop associated tasks
  • Extension updates may reset running tasks

The Scheduled Tasks feature provides powerful automation for tab management, helping maintain updated content and optimize browser performance.
